Interiors By Stone Textile / Childhood room makeover

Back in 1996, my parents let me play a large role in making over my room in Chicago.  It was a 12 year old’s dream come true!  I helped select paint (light blue metallic sponge paint) carpet (deep purple) built-in laminate furniture (a platform bed was a must) and bedding (bright geometric colors).  Let’s just say there was a lot going on.  I loved it.  I still remember walking into the finished space and feeling a sense of accomplishment.  Flash forward 18 years later and I am now designing spaces at a professional level.  My parents once again called me and said that they were ready for a fresh start.  The glossy white laminate builtins were getting old!  Below are some before pictures of my childhood room on this “Throwback Thursday” and then you will see the transformation with sources at the end.  It has been really exciting to see this space come together just as planned.   Thank you for following along!
