Stone Textile - A Home Design Studio

As a designer I am always looking for unique ways to use textiles.  I love mixing textures and experimenting with “hard” and “soft” elements.     This little play on words is even carried into our company name, Stone Textile.  Stone being the “hard” element while Textile is the “soft element.  The Metallic Middle Pillow, shown above, was one of my first designs and is a personal favorite.  The outside and back are a soft textured cotton while the middle overlay piece is a metal netting blend.  See how other designers have chosen to mix textures below…

Last July, while prepping for the first Stone Textile photo shoot, I took a re-upholstery class and made the chairs and bench used for the shoot.  The class was a really great way to incorporate my love for vintage shopping and my love for art projects.  DIY projects are perfect for Summer.  What are some of the projects on your DIY list?

As much as I love collecting vintage china sets there is something about these modern pieces that are also great options for your table.  This dinnerware by, Michael Wainwright, is in stores now.  I love how he incorporates texture into his designs.  Adding the platinum set to my list…

For a more formal dinner party I would pair the platinum set with The Stone Textile Signature Print Place Mat and Napkins.
