Product Spotlight…The Diamond Cut Chargers

03.30.12

It was important for me to carry the fabric print designs over to the table top accessories so the collection stayed cohesive.  The Diamond Cut Chargers are laser cut using the same diamond print pattern as the pillows, napkins, and fabric.  They make a great accessory for your table!  The chargers come in 2 different materials and 4 colorways:  Acrylic/Black, Acrylic/Cream, Wood/Black, and Wood/Natural.

I was thrilled when Judy Aldridge, of the popular fashion and interior design blog Atlantis Home,  used the black acrylic chargers for a recent party she hosted.

Art Post No.5

Emily is back with some more art to share…

Earlier this month New York hosted a menagerie of art fairs. Art lovers and those who are art curious flocked to see work by emerging, established and secondary market artists. I thought I would select a few featured artists, and share with you affordable versions of their art. Creating this post even inspired me to purchase Matthew Brandt’s photo edition!

1. Pae White  2. Kehinde Wiley   3. Yayoi Kusama  4. John Baldessari

Love this Room….Jackie Astier’s New York Apartment

03.26.12

Last month Elle Decor featured, fashion and interior stylist,  Jackie Astier’s New York apartment.   So many things stuck out but, my favorite was her use of texture on the walls.  Each room’s walls are covered in a different style of wall  paper and the dining room’s black lacquered walls make such a statement.  I especially love how she incorporated the “woods” wallpaper from Anthropologie in her kitchen.  It is such a great balance to the all white cabinetry.

A few months ago I used it for my client’s master bathroom and have been wanting to incorporate it into our place ever since! I think this wallpaper really just looks good anywhere…

The Bedroom Project…

03.23.12

When we moved into our apartment last year I spent a lot of time on the living room, office, and dining area.  Our bedroom got left out.  I am finally going to make a few small and affordable changes to the room.  This is what the bedroom looks like now…

This is what I want to do…

1.  I will paint the wall with the windows and curtains a dark color.  I am going with Benjamin Moore/”Soot”.   I have had the curtains that are up now forever!  I am so sick of them.  They will be replaced with Stone Textile Signature Print Curtains that I had made for the photo shoot.  The brass curtain rod is from Restoration Hardware.  It will look great against the dark wall!  Painting a dark accent wall will be a nice balance with the all white room.

2.  I will add The Stone Textile  Square Layers Pillows to our bed.

3.  The all black dressers are a little too all black for me right now.  Since I am not ready to invest in two new dressers,  I am going to replace the hardware with something like this.  That will make a huge difference.

4.  I will move the lower dresser that is currently across from the bed, next to the bed.  This will now be my nightstand/vanity where I can display my jewelry.  (Box, photo, tray)

5.  I am very excited about this vintage mirror I found last week. The shape is so unique but,  the colors are no good right now. So  I am painting it gold, black and white (shocking).  This will go above the black dresser.

Hoping to have this completed in the next few weeks….will share the “AFTER” photos soon.

Enjoy the weekend!

Love this apartment…Nicole Cohen of Sketch42

03.21.12

When I saw Nicole Cohen’s home featured in Rue Magazine’s 3rd issue I fell in love with pretty much everything about it. Her taste level is impeccable.   This was pre-blog and pre-pinterest so I kept a file on my desktop of interior images I loved.  All of the images below were in that file.  Now, a few years later, I able to share another one of my favorite homes with you.  Nicole, a New York based artist and interior designer, recently used some Stone Textile pillows in one of her client’s homes.  It was a pleasure working with her.  Please take a look at her design blog Sketch42.  It is one of my favorites!

A majority of the art is done by Nicole!  Visit her Art Shop to learn more about the paintings featured below.
